Sumner Sloane, Diane's ex-fiancé, returns to Cheers in hopes to make amends with Diane. After agreeing to have dinner with Sumner and his wife, Diane brings Sam along and Mrs. Sloane is suddenly unable to attend. Little to Diane's knowledge but much to Sam's, Sumner is looking for a little more than a friendship with the woman he walked out on.
