Cast and charactersEdit

[edit] Plot outlineEdit

Frasier is surprised and flustered when a neighbor has sex with Martin. Uncertain as to how to treat the situation, Frasier makes a fool of himself by saying the wrong things in front of his father and the woman, and also decides to make peace with the situation by discussing it on his radio show.

[edit] Cultural and historical referencesEdit

  • Roz mentions that Noel drives a '73 Dodge Polaris.
  • While giving Martin advice on what to do on his date, Frasier suggests playing Canasta, while Niles sprightly mentions that PBS is airing a documentary the night of their date about "swing bands of the '30s and '40s." Martin sarcastically thanks them for their suggestions and says that they'll "just split a bowl of creamed corn, rub a little liniment into each other’s joints and fall asleep drooling on the couch."
  • During Martin's date, Frasier and Daphne leave the apartment for an evening of experimental theatre.
  • Martin tells Frasier that Elaine is a buyer for Bon Marché, a real (but now-defunct) department store in Seattle.
  • Composer Henry Mancini, who performed the voice of Al, died of pancreatic cancer five months after this episode first aired.
